A symbol of the unspeakable tragedy of the Sandy Hook school massacre is a piece of baseball memorabilia. This early 1900's panorama includes player wearing the shield of jerseys emblazoned with the never to be forgotten name of Newtown. Measuring 10" x 65", it is in its original frame with mounting holes, signifying it was displayed at one time in an institutional-type place of prominence. The Newtown tragedy touched Leland's on a personal level because of our longtime association with the town of Newtown through friends and most specifically with our 40 year association with the Antique & the Arts Weekly antique trade newspaper based in Newtown, more commonly known as the "Newtown Bee." All Leland's proceeds will be sent to a Newtown related charity of the eventual winning bidder's choice.
