This is the inaugrual booklet-brochure advertising General Motors' experimental Train of Tomorrow of 1947, a classic of Mid-Century design and the forerunner of all domeliner trains in the US and Canada. 20 full-color pages including covers depicting the dome coach, dome diner, dome sleeper and dome observation car which spent two years traveling North America promoting General Motors diesel locomotives and Pullman-Standard passenger cars. After the tour the train was sold to the Union Pacific and became the UP's "City of Seattle". I believe think the dome-observation car "Moonglow" still exists and resides in the Ogden Railroad Museum. A must for any name-train brochure collector. In near mint condition with only some foxing on the covers. This came from the collection of a GM Vice President who rode the train. Large 13 1/2" X 10" format.
