These slides are from my father's collection. He collected over 6000 slides from all over the country. The subjects included trolleys, trolley coaches, diesel and steam locomotives. Most of the slides are originals, taken by him. This particular batch are duplicates of the New York Central Empire State Express. This is the first run of the new streamliner the date was Dec. 7th, 1941. They were taken by my great-uncle in Erie, PA. The press corps riding on this train learned of the bombing of Pearl Harbor while on this train between Erie and Cleveland. T are 5 slides being offered in this auction. The notes on the front side of the frame of the slides were written by my father for identification purposes. All of the slides are in excellent condition.
