ACROSS THE CONTINENT BY THE LINCOLN HIGHWAY by Effie Price Gladding. NY: Brentano's, 1915, [First Edition], 262 pages, 5.75 X 8. Illustrated throughout with b&w photos and a folding map. Condition: book-very good+ / dustjacket-none. "We drove a Studebaker car as far as Denver and a Franklin car from Denver to New York." The total was 8.600 miles with side trips. The illustrated cover shows a map of the Lincoln Highway. Automobile, automobilia, car, transportation, non-fiction. REFERENCE: Bliss: Autos Across America No. 19. "This is the first full-size hard bound contemporary work to discuss transcontinental travel. It is also the first to mention the Lincoln Highway."
