TUNGUSKA: CAULDRON OF HELL - BY JACK STONELEY Thank you bidders for following my auctions. You are bidding on an original copy of Tunguska, Cauldron of Hell . This book was written by Jack Stoneley, printed in Great Britian and published by Hazell Watson & Viney Ltd, Aylesbury. (c) 1977, paperback, 202 pages, Appendix VII, Bibliography. Book is in great shape. Strong Spine. No tears or stains. Cover has a small white spot w a sticker was removed. Book photographs include: 8 plates in center of book not included in page numbering, including Tunguska downed trees, Hiroshima, an eye witness, Imilac Meteorite, Canyon Diablo etched slice, Canyon Diablo whole meteorite, Barwell Stone Meteorite fragment and maps. From back of book: Cosmic Vandal, Invasion Earth! Seventeen minutes and eleven seconds after midnight on the last day of June, 1908, an immense, searing ball of fire ripped into the atmosp and exploded with the appalling fury of a thirty megaton nuclear bomb. Nearly eight hundred square miles of forest were flattened, might tree trunks were wrenched out by their roots - an explosion many times greater then Hiroshima which reverberated twice around the world. Fearful gases and radiation on the wings of a scorching wind consumed herds of reindeer along the banks of the river Rodkamennaya Tunguska. Forty miles away, men were thrown into the air and one horror-stricken herdsman was left speechless for seven years. No fragments, no crater, no evidence of 'the thing's' original form. It came; it destroyed; it vanished. An exploding comet? A tiny black hole that drilled through the earth and emerged in the North Atlantic? Monster anti-matter? Or, strangely consistent with the facts, could the source of diabolical power have been a space ship? Mark Bostick's Comments: This is one of the several books of the Tunguska event. One which many people believe was a meteorite impact. The book tells the story and the different theories surrounding the event. The book does not provided a good answer, nor does it provide any new information. Something included, which is nice, is the bibliography listing many previous papers and books on the event. This book was printed in hardbound in the American market as "Cauldron of Hell: Tunguska".
