EXCELLENT unpolished, unbleached, research shows a very mature specimen of turban shell. Complete with its operculum AND what I belive to be an operculum from a Neptunea Kuroshio. The shell is used for Nacre - Mother of Pearl and the operculum would be a very lovely paperweight gift for that person who has EVERYTHING - ha, not quite! These shells are from a military estate. The family was stationed in Okinawa Islands (Ryukus command) after WWII and these shells were shipped back to the USA probablyfifty (50) years ago. They are fine specimens – photos may pick up more than the naked eye, so please check them closely. I have tried to capture every angle, but feel free to ask specific questions* and I will do my best to facilitate your request. *I am not a Phd. of seashells. I have researched for many hours trying my best to classify these shells correctly. I have discovered many obvious mis-labelings on eBay so please feel free to correct me if you see something that you know for a fact is incorrect. I am trying to be as forthright as possible.I have cleaned with a soft toothbrush and vinegar/organic soap – NO BLEACH.
