I have recently acquired a piece of property from the estate of a gentleman who worked for Texaco/Texas Company in the 1960's. I have discovered two 8 X 10 Black and White photos of a newly completed Texaco Service Station in Evansville, Indiana in 1956. These are actual scans of the photos. An added advantage of one photo is that it also shows a billboard for our now defunct Sterling Brewery. T is a stamp on the back that gives the details of the photo. The photos are in pretty nice shape, except they are somewhat "wavy" from humidity--and please notice the rust spot on the left edge from a rusty paper clip. They were taken on what used to be US Hwy 41 in Evansville, but that road is now Kentucky Avenue. is a link to a mapquest map of that intersection. Map of Bayse St & S Kentucky Ave Evansville, IN 47713, US What a great addition to your Texaco or Texas Company collection! I have discovered a great deal of Texaco, Fire Chief and Firestone advertising memorabilia in this gentlemen's home. I will be listing these items in the near future, so check out my other items !
