Two Lovers Demitasse Cup and Saucer "W" & "AUSTRIA" Elegant Cup and Saucer has a petite hour glass profile with gold accented curling handle. Design is clean and crisp with amazing detail. Gold trim, sharp edges without flaws - no chips, no cracks, no scuff marks. Inside a red upper portion fades into a delightful scene of two young lovers at the bottom of the cup- Romeo and Juliet? Greek Gods? With superfine detail, she smiles while the young man begs her indulgence. In the background a soft, light forest scene. Matching thin gold band filigree around the top outside edge of both continues to top inside edge. Light red rose, almost pink, fades out behind bright gold larger vinegration and basketweave patterns of heralds, blossoms and grape leaves. Outside the cup is simple creamy white with 5 little gold bouquets. The bottom of the saucer is marked with a red vine "W " inside wreath with garlands and "AUSTRIA" below. Also bears a shallow impression of "TK 07" ? Other similar young man serenading ladies scenes are dated between 1880 and 1920. In storage for the last 20 years. Cup measures 2 ¾" diameter x 1 7/8" tall, Saucer measures 4 5/8" diameter x 5/8" tall
