Two Orig Photos by Allen Sisters, Deerfield, MA, c1910s Lot of two original, early 1900s photographs by The Allen Sisters (Frances Stebbins Allen and Mary Electa Allen) of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Included are a view of Deerfield Street and Stebbins House, and another, of the north parlor of the Cowles House, now known as the Ebenezer and Anna Williams House. It features the beautiful wallpaper, having a classical Venetian scene. This wallpaper is still on the wall today. The photos are mounted on album paper, as shown, each with brief descriptions just below the images. They are mounted on just one piece of paper, but are virtually free of it. We left them as is to retain the original captions. The photos each have brief descriptions on their backs, as shown, along with the original prices (Fifty and seventy-five cents), and the sisters' name stamp, which tells us the photos are early 20th century. The album page scraps that remain on the backs of the photos can easily be removed. The sisters were considered among the best women photographers in the country. The Deerfield Street photo measures 6 1/2" X 8 1/2". The Cowles House view measures 4 7/8" X 7 7/8". Condition of the photographs : both very good, clean and uncreased.
