Two Quality Victorian Era Cameos Roman Woman & Flowers, Unmounted For your consideration is this lot consisting of two high-quality, well-done cameos. These both date to around 1870 to 1880. The first cameo depicts a Roman woman facing left. The skilled artesian that created this cameo put a great deal of attention and detail into her intricate hairstyle. This cameo is mint. T are no chips, cracks, or other flaws. T is a slight residue on the back of the cameo from previously being mounted. This can easily be removed if desired. This stone cameo measures approximately 2.5 cm by 3 cm. The second cameo is made of shell and depicts three flowers, two in bloom and one ready to bloom. Ornate detailed lines accent the leaves and flower petals. The cameo is not mounted, but it originally must have been mounted in a ring due to its small size. It measures approximately 2 cm across by 2.5 cm high. The back side rim is a little rough (probably from being mounted) but the front subject is free from flaws. T is a small line near the bottom of the cameo. Do not be deceived. This is not a crack but rather a natural attribute of the shell. These two cameos are the perfect additions for your Victorian jewelry box. Don't forget to check out my other auction of a cameo depicting the bust of a prominent Victorian gentleman. I will combine shipping.
