This is a Stanley No. 101 Wood Block Plane, Made From 1877 to 1962 This Stanley No. 101 Wood Block Plane is 3-1/2 inches in length with a 1-inch-wide cutter. It is in excellent condition with typical light signs of age and use. The black japanning is about 95% with the typical loss on the rails and a couple spots from use. The cutter is near full length and still has the early curved 2-line Stanley Type 1 1877 - 1884 logo and a sharp cutting edge. The metal bottom is shiny clean and smooth showing little signs of use and a small factory flaw on the toe edge. The lever cap has the correct early Type 1 cap screw with no screwdriver slot. It would make an interesting display piece for your collection or put it to good wood working use. Current book value is $20 to $80 and this super Type 1 Stanley No. 101 plane is certainly in the upper half of that value range. A very handy small wood block plane made for both household and light work in tight areas, as well as for fine furniture details, musical instruments, etc. Also known as a great first plane for teaching children woodworking skills. A must-have plane around any workshop for small detail work. No Reserve because I originally got it for a fair price and want it to go to a real carpenter, cabinetmaker, or woodworker who will put it to good woodworking use. Bid the opening price
