These helmets have the paint finished with saw-dust or crushed cork. It was used extensively to prevent glare, or reflection of light, from the helmet. Package includes steel pot only--no liners. Purchase single items at listed price, (2 helmets per package) or buy at SUPER, SUMMER SALE!!!! (note shipping charge for each additional item on the pack of 2 U.S. M-1 COMBAT HELMETS.) This package includes 2, M-1 helmets with adjustable chin straps--the snap style. The straps may be a bit faded, but they are stress-tested to at least 10 lbs.; so they are nice and solid. Also, the bales are solid and free swinging. Keep in mind, the helmets are not new, anywhere from 60 to 68 years old, yet they are in excellent shape. The rim around the bottom of the helmet is joined at the back of the helmet--according to some experts an indication that the helmets were those used in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Yet other experts insist that the M-1 helmets with the rim joined in back were also used in the later part of WWII.
