President U.S. Grant Saute Ste Marie Michigan Land Grant 1874 Certificate No.25, recorded Vol. 1, page 158. United Stated of America, "Lands subject to sale at Marquette, formerly Sault Ste Marie in the State of Michigan, do give and grant, unto the said Polly Cadotte, (alias Johnston) and to her heirs, the tract or parcel of land above described. 24th day of July 1894 by the President: U.S. Grant, by A Williamson, Secretary." Presidents Grant's signature possibly done by the secretary. General Land Office red seal on the left corner. Condition of this deed is very good with creases and light soiling. Writing on the back when recorded in the Register by Guy H. Carleton at the Registers Office Chippena County on 28th day of December 1875. Measures 10 by 16". Please our other auctions.
