We have had these type of "jute" tied unissued pistol lanyards from the WW1 period before, but they were a much better quality and dated 1917. I believe that these SMALL ANCHOR STAMPED and UNDATED lanyards may be late WW1 manufactured items and manufactured when the US was actually involved in the war which the United States entered in April of 1917. They could also be early WW2 or even a "between the wars" manufactured item, we are not sure. The way this lanyard is tied and the construction of the cloth lanyard is almost identical to the ones we had dated 1917. The pictured lanyard may not be the exact one you receive since we have serveral of them. May show a bit of loss to the blackened finish on the metal parts, but still an unissued item designed to fit the Colt 1911 and the Model 1917 Revolvers. ****FREE SHIPPING WITH "BUY IT NOW"****.
