Here is a nice hardcover edition of the book Uncle Remus and His Friends by Joel Chandler Harris, published in 1893 by Houghton Mifflin and Company, The Riverside Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts.This books is subtitiled on the first page: Old Plantation Stories, Songs, and Ballads with Sketches of Negro Character. The book is illustrated by A.B. Frost. This book measures 8" by 5 1/4", runs 357 pages and contains numerous pen-and-ink sketches and a nice frontispiece. It is in good condition. The spine is tight and intact and most of the pages are nice and clean. There are a few soil marks where fingers have turned the pages. There is no wiritng or person's name inside. Plain, grayish green endpapers, gilt lettering on the front with a pen-and-ink illustration. There is one loose page-an illustration. I don't notice much foxing to the pages, but when the book is closed shut the pages show their age. This book has lightly bumped corners and some light soiling to the cover. Not a perfect copy, but a nice vintage book to add to your Uncle Remus collection. Shipping will be $3.50 media mail.
