For sale a Union # 42 Tounge & Grove Plane in the box with the extra wide blade. It appears to me the plane retains all the nickel plating. I looks like the factory grind marks are still on the fence covered by the nickel planing. The two blades plus the extra wide blade appear to only factory sharpened. The box has been taped at the corners; it is all t and the label is intact. The label does state, "Lakeside Tonguing and Grooving Plane No. 42", but I believe that to be proper as I have about one half the Union marked planes I have observed contain blades with the "Lakeside" marking. The Union plane line must have been extensively marketed thru the now defunct retailer Montgomery Ward Co. as one of their product lines. A plane nice enough to sit on the viewing shelf.
