For you Union X plane collectors, is an interesting plane. This union #539 fore plane (20" long)has the same LEVER SYSTEM as the X29 EXCEPT it is non locking(No post or locking nuts)Otherwise, Identical to the X29. This plane is a real beauty with the only fault observed is minor wood damage at throat on base. Corners are crisp, finish is good, no damage to casting. Just that small edge chip on throat. Being an X plane collector myself, I kept this 539 to compare with my other Union X Transitionals, but over the past few years, I have sold most of those off and will only keep my metallic X Planes.(I have also sold off most of my other non-metallic planes)Limited space forces the sale. 3 day auction.
