This is a unique item. My father (a charter member of the Train Collectors of America) converted a Lionel S gauge Passenger car into a famous Connecticut Trolley. The original of the trolley is in front of the Shoreline Trolley Museum in East Haven CT and a look alike is in the CT-Trolley Museum in Windsor. My father took the passenger car, added a motor (Lionel), made the electrical contacts on top and modified the front and back. The color scheme is of the original trolleys. The original car was green and he painted it to the new color scheme. He was an engineer trained as a draftsman and he hand lettered all of the printing on the model. He hand painted all the trim. I used to sit on the cellar stairs and watch him make these models from piles of rust we had found in thrift shops. The model is missing 3 had rails by the doors and one electrical pick up on top. There are a few wear marks from being moved about for 60 years. This model was made in 1956. My father died in 1958. It has been with me since.None of my sons have expressed an interest in keeping it.
