This antique Civil War era United States Patent was issued to J.W.Lewis of Providence, Rhode Island in 1862. The patent is for an "Improved Blacking Box Holder" and the second page features drawings of the device. This large decorative partially printed three page document measures 14 x 20 inches. This patent is number "61" and has a green embossed stamp on the lower left of the front page. This document is signed by the Secretary of the Interior. This document has been folded and has some minor stains on the back page otherwise very good condition! NO RESERVE!
