This is a very unusual antique cloth with lace edges (the lace could be hand made) containing the embroidered names of lot's of different people. On some are dates, little messages and little pictures all done in red thread. The dates are mostly around 1889,1890. I bought this piece a number of years ago as I love antique textiles and the names intrigued me and I had every intention of researching the names and the piece to try and find out the story behind it but I never seem to have the time. This is such an interesting piece. Please be aware that the red thread has bleed a little in places and the back of the cloth is very grubby.
