Antique Haviland LimogesOpenwork Small Cake or Dessert Plate Up for auction is a beautiful Haviland Limoges Openwork Serving Plate. It measures 8-1/2" in diameter and has an unusual scalloped and vine-formed rim.Both the 6 open vines that serve as little handles, and the decoration in the well, are asymmetrically arranged around the plate. The feathery leaves and pink and blue flowers are very fine transferware.The green vines and sponged gold accents are hand painted. The plate is backmarked with the green Haviland Mark #12 (1893-1930) and the overglaze red Mark #13 (1876-1930). [NOTE: The presence of the red overglaze mark indicates this plate was factory decorated .] Excellent Antique Condition: There is minor wear to the trim gilt on the extreme edge in a few places. There are no chips, cracks or stains.
