This is for an unusual pair of Edwardian opera or theatre glasses. They extend in and out when the central wheel is turned as is normal but they actually have two draws that extend for focusing not just one. They have their original and beautifully coloured mother of pearl panels that decorate the casing with lovely rich gilded barrels that extend out. They are in lovely clean condition and they are totally functional with strong and clear lenses and a smooth action to extend them, there are no chips or cracks in the pearl and none of it is missing or worn...as you can see it is also really nicely cut to show the fabulous irridescence in the pearl. The gilded barrels and nickel frame is all shiny smooth with hardly any wear, there is really hardly anything to fault them on, a feint little crack in the black on one eyepeice and they very lightest of wear...thats all, they are in superb condition. They measure 105mm (4") across, the front lenses are 12mm (0.5") in diameter, extended they are 80mm (3") deep and when closed they are a compact 50mm (2") in depth.
