is your opportunity to purchase a very unusual, genuine MICHAELA FREY necklace and earring set that is hard to find. The pendant is of a beautiful geometric design that hooks on the solid sleeve that the rope chain floats through. This style allows the pendent to float to the lowest point, no matter how the necklace shifts while you are wearing it. The pendant consists of various pieces of enameled material in black, gold, white, light blue, and colbalt blue, and is set in a gold backing. I bought this set for myself, but never got around to wearing it. It is pre-owned and gently worn, but is in beautiful condition. This would be an elegant addition to any outfit for any occasion. The necklace measures over 19" around when the hook is in the last loop, and the pendent measures 1 7/8" from side to side, and is 1 1/8" at the widest point. The necklace weighs 1.1 ounce. The earrings are for pierced ears, are 1" square and, although they do not have the exact same pattern due to their shape, they nevertheless compliment the necklace beautifully. The pair of earrings weigh in at .6 ounce, making the total weight of all three pieces 1.7 ounces. T is no original box and tag, but as you know all of her pieces (except for the earliest items) have Michaela Frey written or stamped somew on all jewelry. The stamp is on the pendent and each earring, and each piece also has a sticker that says "Made in Austria". Its steady development and continuous refinement characterize the style of the house of MICHAELA FREY. A variety of artistic manufacturing processes and handwork precision are imperative to create a piece of MICHAELA FREY jewellery. WHAT IS ENAMEL? Enamel is a mixture of glass and inorganic substances melted onto metal. MICHAELA FREY uses only carefully selected jewellery enamel, which is mixed according to personal formulas and then ground. Elaborate series of colour and quality tests are required before the enamel may be applied to the piece of jewellery. ENAMELLING Several coatings of enamel are applied by hand and fired. Many manufacturing and firing processes are required to achieve the brilliance of the colours typical to MICHAELA FREY. DESIGN The designs are created by artists in such harmony to allow combinations of sets or complete ensembles of bracelets, rings, lockets and brooches. Only the best of the resulting designs are then drawn by aquatint on paper foil to obtain a perfect pattern for hand-printing. The fine shades of the vitrified colours can only be selected thanks to highly qualified craftsmen specialized to realize the conception of the artists. FINALIZATION The pattern is applied to the piece of jewellery and then fired at temperatures between 700 and 800 degrees centigrade. Each colour combination requires its own individual firing time.
