OSCAR BUCHER POTTERY 12 Large images are shown below the description! Description: This particular auction is for an usual piece of decorative studio pottery that is signed Oscar Bucher. There is a contemporary West Coast potter by the same name, but this piece would NOT be by that artist. Several years after the fire that occured at the Louis Comfort Tiffany estate in Laurel Hollow New York, some friends unearthed this piece while rummaging around in the remains of those buildings. An artist by this name is mentioned in the 1968 LUKENS STUDIO POTTERY WOELL MODERN JEWELRY SOLDNER, so perhaps that refers to the maker of this item. The artist's mark is shown clearly on the bottom. It is finished in a medium gloss drip glaze. Our multiple images will describe this scarce and beautiful piece of art pottery more than our words ever could. Photos were taken top and bottom and 360 degrees. Dimensions: Height is approximately 13" with a 2 3/4" diameter at the widest point. Condition: Good. There was a professional repair made to correct a crack in the spout. This piece looks much better in person than it does in our pictures. We shot some of the pictures with flash and some without but it is really difficult to capture the full richness of the colors.
