This is one of the most unusual and unique Anton Wingen Jr. knives that I've owned and I've been a collector of their knives for years and had thought I had seen just about every variation. It's also and early Wingen with some very unique and interesting characteristics. It's a Kris-bladed dagger in an unusual configuration and bearing a mark I've never seen on another Wingen knife. The ricasso is stamped with what appears to be "CCC Brand." The design, except for the Kris blade, is very similar to an old pattern that Wingen made for the German military. Anton Wingen Jr. has always been one of my favorite Solingen makers and I have collected their knives for years. Anton Wingen Jr. ceased operations and closed their doors in the early 1990's. However, for nearly 120 years they were one of Solingen's finest makers and produced some knives of incredible quality. The blade is over 1/4" thick and beautifully done. Another very unusual aspect of this knife is that the blade is chromed carbon steel. This leads me to believe that this was made before stainless steel was incommon use. I believe this piece was made shortly after WWI. Nearly all of the chrome is intact with just a couple small flakes near the tip.
