A very unusual wood whistle. It is made of fine wood which might be mahogany. The whistle is meant to inserted into a mouthpiece made of similar wood. The two pieces are linked by a chain. I have got a feeling that the whistle was used on a ship and the mouthpiece screwed to a tube linking the decks. Pure guess work. Done some research but I have not found anything similar. Width of the mouthpiece: 5.2 cm approx. Length of the whistle with the thingy lifted out: 8 cm approx. All mystery to me. I welcome any information.
