US Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Cased Set Established by Executive Order on 4 December 1961, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal is awarded to any member of the United States Armed Forces who either participates in or directly supports any of the following types of operations: United States Military Operations United States operations in direct support of the United Nations United States operations of assistance to friendly foreign nations The individual must complete 30 days of consecutive service or 60 days of nonconsecutive service, however when the operation is less than 30 days, participation must be for the entire time period. Personnel engaged in combat would earn the AFEM regardless of the time in the area. Subsequent awards are denoted by a bronze star worn on the ribbons. Offered is a complete cased set with a currently manufactured full size medal, ribbon bar and lapel pin in the dark blue presentation case, embossed with "United States of America" on the cover.
