THIS GRENADE IS FULLY INERT. IT CONTAINS NO EXPLOSIVES, LIVE PRIMERS, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS. IT IS A CURIO AND RELIC AND NOTHING MORE. IT CANNOT BE READILY MADE INTO A WEAPON OF ANY KIND. IT COMPLIES WITH ALL EBAY RULES AND REGULATIONS, INCLUDING BEING FILLED WITH EPOXY RESIN. Greetings; for auction an orginal US Model M34 White Phosphorus or "Willy Pete" Hand Grenade. Developed as an improvement over the earlier WWII Model M15, the body is slightly lighter with a grooved surface that burst more readily. While the filler was the same as the M15, the effective radius was increased 25%. The body is a grooved and tapered base, which allowed use with a rifle grenade adapter. As the bursting radius was now greater than the typical throwing distance, use with a grenade adapter was preferred when t was no available cover. The color code on this grenade is of the earlier style, with gray body and yellow markings. Fuze bushing is the typical flush style, and the fuse is the proper M206A2. This particular example is in excellent condition, with no damage, marks, or scratches. A rare item for the advanced collector. Low opening bid.
