Lovely sterling silver and glass trivet/pot stand having pierced floral chased decoration.Makers mark to the side Webster Sterling and W over C struck through with an arrowWebster Company-North Attleboro, MA founded in 1869 by George K. Webster. A subsidiary of Reed & Barton from 1950 It has a great feel of quality about it and tests to a good high standard of silver contentThere is some use related wear to the engraving (not serious) but no cracks, breaks, dents or other damage often seen on pieces like this.If it has one fault it is that the silver is mucky on the glass side where there is no provision to clean it. (the glass cannot be removed as the silver rim is rolled in over it) Typical Americans doing the job properly unlike English pieces where the glass falls out and breaks as it hits the floor :-)No doubt some vile unction is available to sort this out and chemically clean it to bring a shine back to it.Measuring 6" (152mm) across, 5/8" (7.6mm) thick having a total weight of 303 gramsA very nice collectable item of good quality from a well respected USA makerCheck out my other items !
