This auction is for a book called "The Love of a Sailor for His Ship" U.S.S. Colorado 1923 - 1947. Written by James D. Hutchison, who was a crewmember of the USS Colorado during WW2. The book is in very good condition. There is no ISBN number, no mention of the printing company that made the book, no date of publication, nothing. There are a lot of pictures inside that were taken directly from the USS Colorado WW2 Cruise Book. There are copies of letters, correspondence, list of dead, list of people who served on board the ship and much much more. The author did inscribe the following on the inside of the book "May all who read this book fully realize my former shipmate served aboard the U.S.S. Colorado with me during WWII. Francis J. Tysgo (sic) B div; and may God bless. James D. Hutchinson.From what I can tell, this is a self published first edition from 1980. The inscription and signature are in blue ink which appears to be completely original. This would be a great item to add to your USS Colorado collection.
