DVD Content USS CORAL SEA (CVA-43) F-111B CARRIER TRIALS This DVD contains the actual, uncut footage of the F-111B carrier trials that took place on USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) on July 23 & 24, 1968. Very rare footage of the F-111B. All aspects: Traps, Launches, elevator movement, towing, etc. Great scenes of the Coral Sea as well. This footage is entirely aboard the Coral Sea, and involves all aspects of the F-111B. The F-111B was to be a Naval variant of the F-111 Aardvark. Since too many compromises were made to make this Air Force bird a Naval aircraft, the aircraft had already been rejected by the Navy. However, funding had already been allocated for the carrier trials, so, they went forward and conducted the carrier trials. The Coral Sea was the available large deck at sea at the time, and the rest is aviation history. Over 18 minutes running time Produced by GRS Videos (TM). Our heritage MUST be preserved. As a veteran read more
