USS Missouri Battleship in massive 1/200 scale. This kit will represent USS Missouri as she appeared at the end of WWII. "This is a complete kit all you need is the love of modeleing to build this American Warship."( and a little bit of extra space to display it ) The Missouri would be the last battleship completed by the United States and was the site of the formal surrender of the Empire of Japan, which ended WWII. Her keel was laid on January 6, 1941, launched on January 29, 1944 and commissioned in June 11, 1944. In the Pacific Theater of WWII, she fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands, and later went on to fight in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. She was decommissioned in 1955 into the US Navy reserve fleet. She was reactivated and modernized in 1984 by the Reagan Administration as part of the 600-ship Navy plan,and provided fire support during Operation Desert Storm in January/February 1991. The kit consists of over 1573 parts including 11 photo-etched frets for handrails, ladders, radar parts, etc.Includes 2-piece hull, 2-piece deck, multiple guns, two SC-1 reconnaissance seaplanes, display stand and name plate.
