The Nakhimov Medal was established by a decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet on March 3, 1944. The medal is made of bronze and was awarded to seaman, soldiers, petty officers, sergeants and non-commissioned officers of the Navy and naval units of the frontier guard service for courage and valor displayed in defense of their socialist Homeland in the course of naval operations.The medal and ribbon appear to be in excellent condition.I SHIP WITHIN THE UNITED STATES ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS!
