You are bidding on a vintage, original January, 1945 calendar lithograph by famous artist ALBERTO VARGAS. Known in the 1940s as " VARGA ", he created the world famous Esquire " VARGA GIRL ". The Varga Girl calendars and gate folds, playing cards and advertising produced by Esquire Magazine made Alberto Vargas a legend during World War Two. His artwork was really enjoyed by our soldiers fighting the Germans and the Japanese. The men at home liked them as well! The output of work Vargas did for Esquire between 1940 and 1947 was tremendous. The artwork for this 1945 calendar is highly collectible. This print I am selling is 64 years old. CONDITION............excellent, very clean, slight paper indentation next to her leg........please see my many detailed photos for close-ups on condition. I absolutely guarantee this to be an old original calendar print from the original 1945 Varga calendar. It is not a new print, reproduction, or reprint. The size is a great 8 and 1/2 inches by 12 inches. Excellent to mat and frame! I have several other Pin-up items on Ebay, including the Limited Edition Elvgren Book co-authored by his son Drake Elvgren, vintage Varga playing cards, Vargas prints and collector card sets. Check them out. Please e-mail any questions. I gladly combine shipping and will ship additional prints free of charge. You just pay
