Up for auction tonight is for a hard to find "Vaseline Green" Antique Early American Pattern Glass SODA FOUNTAIN DRUG STORE STRAW JAR c.1900. It is in the "Colonial" style pattern consisting of 10 panels, the maker is unknown. It measures 9 1/2 inches high x 3.5 inches across the top in diameter, 4 1/4 inches across the bottom in diameter. These old straw holders were used in the old Drug Stores, Soda Fountains, and Ice Cream Shops, for your ice cream floats, shakes, root beer, coca cola or whatever your drink of choice was. The jar is heavy, thick glass; and at one time probally had a lid that dispensed the straws, the lids can be found. It's looks to be in very nice condition, no cracks, chips or repairs, shows good wear on the bottom, needs so cleaning 100% guaranteed old!
