This is a delightful little... Vaseline Opalescent Glass... four Footed... Covered Jam Jar... in that always elusive old âeoeFan and Featherâe pattern. This delicate beauty standing just a bit over 6 and 1⁄2 inches tall with the cover on... about 4 1⁄2 inches tall with the cover off... and 4 1⁄2 inches across the top rim. It appears to be of a excellent quality Vaseline Glass... and in excellent condition. This was an old Northwood Glass Company pattern that first entered production in 1900 when the glass makers was operating as the Northwood Works of the National Glass Company. I believe the molds were later acquired by the Westmoreland Glass Company after Northwoodâe(tm)s demise. However... this ornate Jam Jar is unmarked as to maker... which is not surprising!!!... Over the years Iâe(tm)ve seen these in both marked... and unmarked examples. I should also mention that this Vaseline Glass is highly fluorescent under the Black Light. A generous application of Opalescence âeoefrostsâe the top of the handle on the Cover... the top rim of the Bowl... and the outer edges of the four elegant scroll like feet. The fanciful... Victorian style... âeoeFan and Featherâe pattern adorns the four side panels as well as the quartered panels of the Cover. A one inch âeoemarbleâe like ball... sets atop the cover... serving as a handle.
