This wall plaques is an accurate and beautiful reproduction of antique art. There is a bit of mystery about this plaque. It has engraved name of well known sculptor Francois Duquesnoy and under his name you can read "Paris 1892". It is not clear to me how the original plaque is connected to year 1892 and Paris, because this sculptor died in 1643 and not in Paris. However the original antique plaque and another matching plaque in fancy barocco frames were sold at Christie's auction in October 2009 for $4,375. Unfortunately those barocco frames iether not survived or being kept in private collection. The reproduction which you can see here is done with rather modest framing, but the original beauty of plaque itself is not compromised.
