VERN STEPHENS AUTOGRAPHED GOVERNMENT POSTCARD, POSTMARKED JAN 11, 1950 A possible future Hall of Famer One of the most dominant shortstops of his era Jim Stinson Sports is proud to present this item from a very special collection obtained in its entirety directly from the original collector himself. Between 1948-1952 A young boy living in the north east wrote to hundreds of former baseball players requesting their autographs. This astonishing collection represents the replies to his requests. All are neatly signed on government postcards, that measure 3 1/4 x 5 1/2. and are postmarked on the reverse. They were all displayed in his scrapbook and each has a very, very small barely noticable tape stain on each corner. Vernon Decatur Stephens (October 23, 1920 – November 3, 1968) was an American shortstop in professional baseball who played 15 seasons in the American League for four different teams. A native of McAlister, New Mexico, Stephens batted and threw right-handed. He was also nicknamed "Pop-up Stephens", "Junior", and "Buster". AUTHENTIC HAND SIGNED ORIGINAL !
