Salamina was designed by famous artist/author Rockwell Kent and was adapted from his best selling book of the same name which detailed his life in Greenland. Salamina was his devoted housekeeper.Produced in 1939, Salamina is considered his most valuable and sought after Vernon Kilns design. It was manufactured on the company's highly original and very distinctive Ultra shape. It is the ONLY Kent dinnerware pattern that is hand tinted with color.The 9 1/2" luncheon plate is in almost unused condition with no chips or hairline cracks and only a few very slight utensil scratches.
