An excellant looking ORIGINAL LOBBY CARD from the 1942 Romance Comedy from United Artists..."I Married a Witch". Beautiful actress Veronica Lake is in her prime playing the character of Jennifer...a witch from the 1670's who, along with her father Daniel played by Cecil Kellaway are both burned to death by the Puritans...their two souls are being held by the roots of the tree used to do the deed. In revenge Jennifer has placed a curse on the family present and future of the leader of the Puritan cause Jonathan Wooley played by Fredric March. The curse against the men of the family tree is that they all will be miserable in love always to love and marry the wrong woman! And so it goes throughout the ages as the Wooley men are all doomed to this existance. Well, here comes the 20th century and the tree that had been holding Daniel and Jennifer's spirits for hundreds of yearsgets hit by lightning which releases them in a vapor form. They go along to check out their handy work visiting the home of the present line of the Wooley clan...Wallace. He is about to marry the wrong woman again named Estelle Masterson [Susan Hayworth] and is also running for term in politics.
