I am putting two auctions on eBay today of Doc Savage protraits. Both came from the same old estate. This auction is for a VERY EARLY portrait of Doc Savage. It is a print and the bottom of the portrait reads: COMPLIMENTS OF DOC SAVAGE MAGAZINE MADE IN U.S.A. This came out of a private estate. This was still inside the mailing envelope which is included in this auction. I do not know the exact date but it cost one cent to mail the item so guessing this to be early 1940's? The old mailing envelope is soiled and has a few tears, but has the Doc Savage Magazine return address (second picture) The portrait is very nice, has a couple of small tears at the bottom of the portrait and is slightly warped from being stored so many years, but since the portrait was still inside the envelope the colors are FANTASTIC. Portrait measures approx.8 by 11 inches. I know very little about Doc Savage, but would gladly answer any questions. Please view the other portrait that I have on eBay. It is a different pose. Buyer to pay calculated shipping cost based on zone. I have received some more information about the portrait/print. I was emailed that this was given away free to readers who submitted three consecutive coupons clipped from the magazine from 1936 and 1937. This was from "THE SEA ANGEL" and was orginally painted by Robert G. Harris, a prolific read more
