Rare and Large Nao by Lladro figurine of a beautiful Country Girl at an rustic Water Tap!! She stands with a look of surprise on her face as she looks down at the large water jug on the ground that she just dropped. She is dressed in a traditional European country ensemble of a white ruffled peasant shirt, blue corset, and an orange skirt flowing widely around her. She also wears a white apron and her lovely hair pulled to one side showing her beautiful face. This figure has very intricate details which can be found in the rustic stone well with the water tap and the stone steps at her feet covered in leaves and grass. The jug is large and gives the appearance of being ceramic-all to add that rustic effect. She is glazed in the typical Lladro glossy finish. The figure is quite large measuring 12" high by 8" wide by 5.5" deep. The figure is stamped on the bottom with Nao, the Lladro logo, Handmade in Spain By Lladro, and Daisa. Her reference number is marked on the bottom. She is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks!!!! She is exquisite and would make a fine addition to a Lladro collection. This would also make a beautiful gift for a loved one. It is also a great piece of decor for a fraction of the cost but brand new-retails for $365!!! Extra low reserve under $119!!! LLADRO : The 1990's confirm the success of the artistic and professional career of the Lladró brothers, with their works receiving important awards and being exhibited in several cities throughout the world. In this ten year period, Lladró receives the most important acknowledgments to its professional career: the Príncipe Felipe award for Internationalization (1993), for Competitiveness (1997) and for Renown Brand Management (2001), three awards given to the Lladró brothers by the Prince of Asturias and which represent a milestone for the company. Every Lladro creation begins with an artistic inspiration. The sculptor then makes the first sketch of the new figure in clay, which is examined and approved by the Creativity Committee, made up by many members, one of whom comes from the Lladró family. The sketch, in clay, is reproduced in plaster to provide the first mold, which will in turn become the definitive mold for the porcelain figurine. Once the figurine is reconstructed, the decoration process starts. In compliance with the sculptor's instructions, and the surface of the piece -so far smooth- it is carved with delicate motifs that will give it its final appearance. It is at this point that the face on the sculpture gets its expression and the tiniest details are delicately crafted. In addition, the figurine is painted and if it requires a glossy finish is later covered with a coat of varnish, which grants it that crystalline look that is so characteristic of Lladró. I ship via US Postal service using Parcel Post Mail and add Insurance (optional)to cover item which is up to the winning bidder to add. I make sure to pack items extremely well but recommend insurance for fragile items. I prefer Paypal but will accept money orders and personal checks.
