This is a very nice ten karat gold pin of an eagle with wings out. The piece is lovely and the picture is lousy. Dont judge the pin by the picture. Ten Karats is inscribed on the Rear. On each side of the eagle's head are the two letters "G" and "S". I think this means it is Girl Scouts leadership pin or some sort of honor. Revision - Ebayers sent my new information. This pin is a Golden Eaglet of the Girl Scouts. A beautiful photo of it and similar pins can be found at . Apparently pins like this have sold for several hundreds of dollars recently. This pin must be the one that lists as 1 1/8 x 1/1/8. However, my pin does say 10 karats on the reverse. It was made after 1919 and before 1930. The pin weighs 9 grams. This is a little under a third of a Troy ounce. Ten Karats means the piece is about 43% gold. At about $850 an ounce spot price for gold, this makes the pin worth about $75.00 in gold. It is clearly an eagle and has no major wear. I am starting the pin-brooch at $45.00. This is more than fair. I place no other reserve. The shipping should not be much because the pin is about the size and weight of a fifty cents piece. IMPORTANT: SEE THE IMPROVED PHOTO BELOW!
