This is a gorgeous sterling silver grapefruit spoon. It is highly ornate with the handle made of a a branch with fruit that looks to be oranges or grapefruits. The design has open cutwork between the leaves and branches. The lower part of the handle is the branch itself which connects to the bowl of the spoon which is a single leaf with the veins of the leaf incised on it. The back of the spoon shows the ornate design from the back with the fruit and branch handle. The back of the spoon is marked with sterling and the number 38. T is also an imprint of three symbols. From right to left it shows a lion, a cross, and then another symbol that I cannot make out, but it is kind of an oval shape. These symbols are very tiny. The condition of the spoon is excellent. The bowl and the fruit have kind of a gold cast to them. T is what looks like a small amount of wear on the edge of the spoon's bowl on one side and the back of the bowl shows some wear, but that is the only thing I can see. The design is wonderful. I don't collect silver, but this looks to be a unique piece. *I live in the country and do not get to the post office every day.
