For sale is an extremely rare c. 1700 to 1750, could be earlier, hand forged iron cresent blade tomahawk from my Native American trade iron collection. The cresent blade is punch decorated on both sides but only one side is actually still at all visible. I went over that side with some chalk so that it would come up in the pictures. Still not everything can be seen in the pics. The punched decoration follows the outl ine of the blade and in the center of this is a pinwheel design. The other end of the head is a mushroom hammer poll which is applied. The inside looks peened over but it may have unscrewed, I can not tell. It has ,what seems to be an original , partial haft. Great small size! The head measures 6 and 1/2 inches long from blade to hammer poll. The blade itself is 4 inches wide. The partial haft is 11 and 5/8 inches long. The head has a round eye which is approx. 1 and 1/4 inches. The head has a not too badly pitted surface and the blade edge has several small dings out, but again not too bad. The partial haft has a large chip. Please just bid and do not ask me to cut a deal or reveal the reserve. The reserve is low enough for you to add this one to your collection. Don't miss out, they don't come around too often. Check out my other listings, some neat reservation and tourist pieces going up this week from a collection read more
