Check out this beautiful early 1920's multicolored "MONREALE OLIVE OIL" tin! Itâe(tm)s very rare as it was sold only at the REXALL DRUGS STORE, promoted for medicinal purposes as well as table use (as indicated on the can). Itâe(tm)s also one of the most spectacular tins weâe(tm)ve ever seen! Itâe(tm)s not a paper label but is ALL TIN LITHO with extraordinary colors picturing an olive tree, mountain scenery & sunset (on both sides) surrounded by shiny gold borders. Itâe(tm)s 5-1/2 x 2-3/4 x 2" with a round 1-1/4" diameter pry open lid in the center. Condition is beautiful âe" amazing as the litho is of that very thin metallic paint so often used on these early tins that usually didnâe(tm)t stand the test of time. This one is super clean & crisp and the colors are brilliant! Even the thin gold paint is intact âe" so clean & shiny you can see your reflection! T are 2 minor dents on one of the side panels but they donâe(tm)t at all detract. Also tâe(tm)s a small puncture in a corner on top w someone used a can opener for easy oil pouring, instead of using the pry open lid. A knockout tin âe" certainly the most beautiful olive oil tin weâe(tm)ve ever seen âe" and one weâe(tm)ve never seen before!
