On auction, rare, " Father /Grandfather Frost " cloth figure, made by hand in Russia. This figurine has been part of my personal "Santa" collection. Some of it's features are: MIB some scuff marks and writing on lid Russian characters on underside of figurine stands 91/2" tall , 4" wide red, silken tunic with white fur trim red semi-round hat with white fur trim long staff held in right hand, bag with gifts in left " Grandfather Frost" has had a rough life in Russia. Up until 1920, he was depicted in many colors, depending upon location and time. Most predominant color being blue. In more recent years ,on January 6th, he travels with his granddaughter "Snegurochka" bringing presents to boys and girls. It was only around 1931, when Coca Cola decided to use him in their advertising, that he started dressing in red and white. In Russia, the New Year is much more celebrated than Decenber 25th and the Orthodox Christmas takes p lace from January 6th to 7th. I only accept PayPal and do not sell internationally.
