This lot is a nice one for the owner of any veteran or vintage car which has a 'roof and rail' luggage rack... It is a solidly made wooden trunk with a curved base - see photo 1 - covered in Rexine ( American cloth?) and which has all brass fittings and handles. Obviously designed to fit on a roof, perhaps of an early UNIC or other London taxi, there is provision on the ends of the trunk for retaining straps. It is in solid condition with some wear to the covering as to be expected on something of this age - probably 1910s-1930s. Internally it is generally clean and dry and just needs a good brushing out... Size: 11.5" deep x 22" wide x 46" long. The curvature is maximum 'radius' of 1.25". Someone somewhere please find a use for this - I need the space and don't wish to put the axe into this, hence low start price. Pick-up only please (two miles from J13 M4/A34 Chieveley interchange) - cash on collection will be OK. N.B. I am relisting this as there were a dozen or more watchers... but if it doesn't sell I SHALL put the axe in it but save the high quality latches and locks... I don't want to do that.
