The Canada Scott/Unitrade #30a Large Queen with 11.5 x 12 perforations is quite scarce in any condition; in mint with original gum, it hardly ever comes up for auction. In 1996, such a stamp in mint hinged 30a Large Queen came to auction and realized $3,500. The auction description at the 1996 Maresch Capex Auction described the stamp realizing $3,500 as follows: "30a Bright Blueish Gray Perf 11.5 x 12 Firths printing order IX circa 1881-2 Exceedingly rare and the only mint copy I have ever handled". These comments in the 1996 Maresch Capex Auction are attributed to the late William Maresch regarding the mint hinged 30a stamp which was sold. You may never get another chance to acquire the extreme rarity offered herein which is in MINT NEVER HINGED condition and is authenticated with accompanying Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation Expertizing Certificate dated 9-23-2010.
