Victorian Edwardian Grecian Taille d' Epargne Etched 1/20 10KGold Filled Bracelet by Sidney O. Bigney For your consideration today I'm pleased to offer a very lovely Victorian Edwardian Grecian Taille d' Epargne Etched Gold Filled Bracelet by Sidney O. Bigney - Sidney O. Bigney {SOB} and company of Attleboro Massachusetts were makers of mostly gold- plated jewelry from the late 1890s to the mid 1940s. Taille d'epargné , sometimes referred to as black enamel tracery, translates from the French literally as "saving cut." It is a variation of champlevé whereby engraved lines forming a design are incised into the metal and are filled with opaque enamel - usually black . This technique was often used to decorate bracelets, watch cases and mourning jewelry - Our hinged bangle has definite Edwardian characteristics, so I lean closer to the early 1900s and would certainly be a nice addition to your vintage jewelry collection!
